Hi I'm Claire

I grew up in Salt Lake, I teach fitness classes, I am a mother of multiples (boy-girl twins) and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a family with all brothers (7 to be exact!). I had the privilege of attending Utah State University where I graduated with a bachelors in Exercise Science. I now teach fitness classes and am married to a wonderful man! On September 7, we had two babies, a boy and a girl. They came nine weeks early and had to spend several weeks in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit. It was a very scary experience having them come so early. I went into labor when I was only 30.5 weeks along and the doctors did everything they could to stop the labor. After 3 days, they knew it wasn't possible and I had them by c-section. One of the good things of being in labor for so long was they were able to give me some medicines to help speed up the babies lung development. Because of this, they were able to breathe on their own and miraculously did very well outside of the womb. After 55 days in the hospital, they were finally able to come home. Five months later, they are doing great! You wouldn't even know of the traumatic birth that entered them into this world. We are so grateful for the modern medicine that we have to give us our miracle babies.

Why I am a Mormon

Originally I was a Mormon because it was the religion that I was raised in. I went to church because that was what you were supposed to do. During my college years, it was the first time I had moved away from my family and could do whatever I deemed worthy of my time. I enjoyed the social aspect of the church but there was something deeper. I believe that God has given each of us a light to decipher good and bad. I have felt over and over again the goodness that comes from the gospel and the happiness I feel when I am living the principles that it teaches. I also have a strong testimony of prayer. I believe that God knows me and hears me when I pray to him. He has manifested himself over and over again in my life when I have earnestly and honestly sought him in prayer. If there were no other reasons than my feeling that God's hand is in my life, this would be it. I know that God answers MY prayers. He knows me, he cares about me, and he has a plan for me. This is why I am a Mormon. I believe that the LDS church teaches true principles about God. I believe it because I have seen it in my life.

How I live my faith

We attend a part of the church that they call "married student wards". These wards are designed for couples who are still attending college. (My husband is finishing up his masters degree in the spring from USU). Everyone in the ward is in the same boat so its easy to make friends and participate in various activities. We have loved being in the student ward and have strived to have other couples over to dinner or do date nights together to get to know each other outside of church.
