Hi I'm Kevin

I grew up in California. I like to ride bikes. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town in northern California, just 50 minutes outside of Sacramento. My closest neighbor was was my grandma, who lived 100 yards away from us. As the only boy sandwiched between two sisters, my dad spoiled me. Together, we enjoyed all things outdoors - tennis, cycling, hunting, sailing, camping, hiking, backpacking, etc. Today I am a recent graduate in finance, getting ready to marry the girl of my dreams in the temple for all eternity. In my spare time (and when it's not too cold outside), I still enjoy riding my bike, sailing, shooting, and having adventures. Mostly, riding my bike. I even competed in a 206-mile bike race across three states called LOTOJA!

Why I am a Mormon

Both sets of grandparents were Mormon and my parents were Mormon, so it was natural that I would become a Mormon too. Since birth, my parents took me to church every Sunday and taught me to live the principles that Jesus Christ taught. When I was eight I was baptized and became an "official" member of the church. Since then, I have continued to study the scriptures and the words of the prophets and have come to know the Savior personally. When I was 19 years old, after just one year of college, I served a Mormon mission in Jacksonville, Florida, where I represented Jesus Christ. The more I taught others the principles of the gospel, the stronger my own conviction grew. Since returning from my mission nearly six years ago, I have tried to increase my understanding of life and my purpose in it.

How I live my faith

I live in Provo near Brigham Young University, where there a lot of Mormons my age. I enjoy being surrounded by people with similar values but I try to reach out and be kind to everyone. I am active in my local congregation, where I teach Sunday School. In all areas of my life I strive to emulate my Savior, Jesus Christ, and consider what He would do in different situations. It's not easy, and I make a lot of mistakes, but I take comfort in knowing that He is my example and as long as I follow Him, I'm headed in the right direction.
