Hi I'm Rita

I grew up in New Jersey. I'm studying English. I'm a writer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a full time student at BYU-I studying English with an emphasis in professional writing. I love to read and write and play sports. Basketball and ultimate frisbee are my two favorites. I also played Piccolo in my high school marching band and danced hip hop, jazz, and ballet for seven years. I am an only child and was raised by a single parent.

Why I am a Mormon

My conversion happens on a daily basis as I chose to follow the Lord each day in everything that I do. I have felt an incredible sense of love and guidance from the Lord in the past few years and have felt the Holy Spirit by my side in ways I could never deny or fully explain in words. I wasn't active in the church until I was about 12 years old, when my father passed away, and at that time I began to understand a little bit about the atonement of The Lord and how it works. Since then, I know I have barely scraped the surface of understanding the atonement, as there are parts of it that still have not been revealed to the world, but I have felt the beautiful, unexplainable cleansing and enabling powers that The Lord can help us understand through that atonement. I feel an incredible amount of peace and comfort and strength in this gospel and am grateful to have it in my life.

How I live my faith

I attend religion class regularly and am a second counselor in the women's presidency of my ward at school. I also help people plan group activities for our ward as well. I also love to help others and do what I can for people in need even if it means just driving them to the grocery store for food.
