Hi I'm Sophie

I live in Utah, I'm passionate about music, travel, and food, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am studying Media Arts at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I have been called to serve a full-time mission in the New Jersey Morristown mission, speaking the Spanish language. I believe strongly in the power music has in influencing thoughts and actions, and that it can be a powerful tool in inviting the Spirit of God into our daily lives. I play the piano, cello, and ukulele, and speak English, Spanish, and a little Arabic. One of my goals for life is to travel to every country in the world. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church on this earth, and that through living the principles taught therein I can live with my family and with my Heavenly Father for eternity.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I've found it to be the best way to the most happiness. Not because it's easy, because it isn't and shouldn't be. I believe that trials make us stronger, and I've come to see the beauty in darkness. The Gospel gives me light when I can't see my hand in front of my face (figuratively). I love being able to know that I can be with the people that I love for eternity, and this church makes it so much easier to love everyone around me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by prioritizing my daily scripture study and my weekly church and temple attendance. I come closer to my Savior and to other children of God through acts of service, and through sharing my testimony of the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am preparing to dedicate 18 months of my life to serving the Lord and sharing the Gospel message, in the hopes that I can be an instrument of the Lord in bringing people the joy of the restored Gospel.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

We chose our families before we came to this Earth, and we will be with them for eternity. The greatest source of strength, happiness, and love I've found in my life by far has come from my family. It isn't always peaceful, but feeling such a comfort and having the ability to be exactly who you are helps growth and strengthens relationships. In the family we learn to love, sacrifice, serve, teach, and listen. Show more Show less
