Hi I'm Devin

I grew up living in different countries around the world. I'm studying Business Management in university. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Because of my dad's job, I grew up all over the world. I enjoy traveling and experiencing new cultures. I am a people-person, and like to do things with others, such as team sports, board games, and especially service. I recently graduated from university, and am excited to continue to learn as a new chapter in my book of life begins.

Why I am a Mormon

As stated earlier, I have grown up moving around the world. While where we lived and who we knew would change every two or three years, there were two constants in my life: my family and the Church. My family grew every couple of years with a new sibling, but they were still my family -- I still consider them to be my closest friends. The Church was similar: though the people we met with might change when we moved, the Gospel that was taught was still the same throughout the world. It always provided us with a foundation when we moved to a new area. However, it wasn't until I was in my teenage years that I had to decide for myself why I was a member of the Church, and what that meant to me. A large part of my personal conversion has to do with my testimony of the Book of Mormon. I remember reading through the book on my own and then praying to God to know whether what I read was true, and I will never forget the confirming feeling that came over me shortly after my prayer, letting me know that it is the word of God. From that experience, I have come to know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and that is why I follow the teaching of the prophets. I have since read and prayed about the Book of Mormon many times, and have continued to receive an answer of its truthfulness. I have also seen the many blessing and joy that has come to my life, as well as my family's lives, that have come from the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have served in the Church in various capacities, ranging from teaching classes to missionary work to positions of leadership. In all my service, however, I enjoyed my callings because they were in the service of others, and helping them draw nearer to Jesus Christ. Being a Mormon is more than just Sunday worship, it is a way of living. I live my faith through daily personal and family scripture study and prayer, as well as by looking for opportunities to help out those around me. I try to live my life much as Christ did: in the service of others.
