Hi I'm Janet Quist

I'm a student, a future nurse, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm going to school at Brigham Young University. I love doing anything musical, whether it be on the flute, piano, or tenor saxophone, or through my voice. I have always wanted my degree to give me opportunities to help people on a daily basis. I know now that my calling is to be a registered nurse. I have more hope for the future than ever before. There are so many things to look forward to and be grateful for! I am going to be a registered nurse through the university of my dreams; in May 2015, I will be sealed to the love of my life for time AND all eternity (seriously, how amazing is that?!); and I am going to serve with him as a mother for our children and raise them to love the Lord. I can't think of a better life than that.

Why I am a Mormon

My true conversion to the Church happened when I was 14 years old. I have been a member all my life, but that is the first time I read the Book of Mormon by myself, in its entirety. I could see the story unfold and I knew without a doubt that it was true. I am a Mormon because I know this church is true and I cannot deny it, nor would I want to. I am a member of this church because it brings me more happiness than I could ever find otherwise. It gives me confidence in my life's path. This church shows me why life is worth living, and living right. This gospel means everything to me. I know it is true. I am a Mormon. I know it, I live it, and I love it!

How I live my faith

The Church has always been the backbone of my life. I would be so lost without the knowledge of the love of my Heavenly Father. After moving out and starting college, I have become so much closer to Him and He gives me the strength I need to get through every day. I know that my Savior, Jesus Christ, lives and that He sacrificed His life for me. He knows me personally and wants me to return to Him someday. I am so comforted by the fact that He knows everything I am going through and always wants to help me. I live my faith daily by exercising trust in the Lord. He has a plan for me that is better than anything I could imagine and I strive every day to reach my potential and make my Father in Heaven proud.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Janet Quist
We believe that Jesus Christ is literally the Son of God. He was born to the virgin, Mary. His mission on earth was to atone for our sins and die so that we may be resurrected and live forever. It is our choice to accept His sacrifice, and it is the way to return to our Father in Heaven. Show more Show less

What is the Law of Chastity?

Janet Quist
We believe that the power of procreation should be reserved for marriage. We choose not to participate in activities that could endanger our virginity. By living the Law of Chastity, I feel pure and more worthy for my eventual marriage to an equally worthy young man. Show more Show less
