Hi I'm Sharon

I was born in California and now live in Idaho. I help on our farm. I own a Wedding/party decor business. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mom, grandma, a farmers wife and a business owner. I love taking on new projects and figuring out problems. I like to do furniture refinishing and upcycling things. I have tackled recovering upoholstry. I am an organized wannabe. I am learning and teaching family history. In my business I help people plan their decorations for their party or event. I love my job. It's really fun!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were active in the church up until I was around 4 or 5 years old. When I was 7 years old I lived with my grandparents for a year. They went to church so I went with them. I remember having such a feeling of peace there. My grandfather baptized me. When I came back home I begged my dad every week to take me to church. But we didnt go. Soon I quite asking. But I always remembered how I felt. A few years had gone by and I happen to notice a girl on the play ground that I thought I had remembered from when I was younger. So I walked right up to her and asked her straight up if she was a Mormon. She said, "yes". I asked, "Will you take me to church?" She said she would. I have hardly missed a Sunday since. I love the Gospel. It gives me such a sense of belonging, a family, a hope of the future, peace, friends I never thought I could have, love unexpressable, to which I believe is what the Lord wants and hopes for. I know that He watches over his children. He has put many people in my way to help me with my struggles, to keep me in His care. My prayers and hopes have been answered many times over to the point that I could never deny that there is a God. He has hopes for us. He loves us beyond our capacity to fully understand and comprehend. He expects us to do and be our best. I love Him and His gospel. Though I fall short, His love for me will never fail.

How I live my faith

In my church I serve as the family history consultant. Which means I help people find their ancestors. I also have served in the past as a teacher for young children for about 25 years. I have served as girls camp director. That was a fun calling. This is working with youth ages 12-18 helping them to plan meaningfull activities. One of the objectives for girls camp is to feel the love of God through nature. I am really shy but the callings I've had in my church have helped me to grow beyond my comfort zone.
