Hi I'm Sarah

I grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I love the arts and sciences. I love God. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Sarah. I was raised in Michigan. I was part of the theater and choir groups in high school. I love acting and performing, but I also like learning and growing my faith. I've traveled to Rome with my choir. I'm trying to learn German. I enjoy almost every subject in school which is the main reason that I'm having so much trouble choosing a major in college. I doodle on all my notes in class. I love watching British television, hanging out with my friends, eating good food, and playing games. I am currently serving a mission for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Idaho Falls Idaho Mission. I love the people, I love the opportunities for service, and I love the companionship from the Holy Ghost that comes from dedicating my life to the Lord for 18 months. I am learning how to be kind, caring, loving, considerate, and many other Christlike qualities that I never thought I would be able to grow. I love my God. I love my Jesus Christ. I love the Holy Spirit.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was twelve years old I was assigned to give a talk in church and I was scared to death. I tried to study and know what to say on my own, but I was stuck. I asked my mom and dad for help and they asked if I had prayed yet. I had not. I felt that because it was such small task, writing a 5 minute talk, that I shouldn't bother asking for help. I thought that God wouldn't pay attention to me for something so trivial as a talk. My mom and dad told me that I should pray because God would always want to help me because he loved me. I didn't believe them. I thought that Gods love was something you had to earn, and if I couldn't even write a spiritual talk for church, how could I be worthy of His love. My mom had us all kneel in prayer. I don't remember what she prayed for, but I remember feeling like I was wrapped in a big warm blanket and I immediately felt comforted. I knew then that God loved me and would always love me. From then on I have never doubted Gods love. I know when I make a mistake I can always turn to Him, because, like the perfect father that He is, He will always have unconditional love for me. Going to church and being around people that also understand Gods love is where I am able to feel His love for me the strongest.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday and focus on the Lord on the Sabbath day to keep it holy. I do my best to be kind to others. I love to sing hymns of praise to God through song and through my actions. I dress modestly to show respect for myself as a daughter of God and to respect the body that He has given me. I am serving a mission because I know that God has blessed me through my faith and works, and I want to offer others the opportunity to grow their faith in Christ. I know God is my Father and I want others to know He is their Father as well. God has given us this life to learn and grow. We don't always know what is coming, but He does and He will guide us by the hand if we are humble and submit our will to His. He is perfect and we can be perfect, too, if we follow the example of Jesus Christ. I am on my mission because I have known great joy from following Christ's example and i want others to feel that joy.

What is faith?

Sarah
Faith is a principle of action. Nobody will do anything unless they have faith that a certain outcome will occur. Faith is the evidence of things we believe in, the proof someone has in their heart of things that they can't see. We act according to our faith in everything we do. I have faith that God is my loving Heavenly Father so I do my best to honor and respect Him through my thoughts, words, and actions. I have faith that He will bless me for my efforts, but I know that my best try isn't enough. I have faith that His grace is sufficient to cover my mistake and make everything I do enough. My faith is what leads me to strive to be what I want to become. Everyone has faith in something. Mine is in my God. Show more Show less
