Hi I'm Linda

Hi I grew up in Utah and guess what? I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. My dad was from Nashville, Tennessee and my mother was from Utah. I have one sister that is just 11 months older than me. We were raised almost like twins and so we are very close. We went through school being in the same grade. Along with my parents, she had a tremendous influence on me and helped me become who I am today. After high school I went to the University of Utah and graduated jn Early Childhood/Elementary Ed. I taught school for 10 years. When I was 30 years old I married a wonderful man that I met on a blind date. We have 4 children, 3 boys and 1 girl. We moved to Star Valley Wyoming in 1998. I'm a wife, a mom, a grandma and an ESL teacher at the elementary school. I like to crochet, read, play with my grandchildren, travel and spend time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

When I attended high school I got to sing in a gospel choir, it was called Seminary choir, that is where I gained my testimony of Jesus Christ. Through singing I often felt some things that would touch my heart so deeply that I would oftentimes find myself crying. I learned through prayer that the spirit was talking to me and telling me that what we were singing about was really true. My Savior loved me, He really did live and He was very much aware of me. I know that He is always with me as long as I try do what's right. I know that he feels my pain, and that he forgives me when I mess up if I am truly sorry for what I have done. It is my grandest hope that I will someday be able to return to his presence with all of my family, my parents, my husband, all of my children and grandchildren, my sister and all of her family. If that happens it will truly be heaven! It is because of that hope and my testimony that I just keep trying to do better every day.

How I live my faith

I live in a very small rural valley in western Wyoming. I teach English to non-English speaking children at one of the 4 elementary schools. It is really rewarding to watch these kids as they learn the language and grow in their confidence. Every month I get to visit some ladies in our little town and take them a message about the Savior. By doing this I have gotten to know some amazing women. I also conduct our youth choir, which consists of young men and women ages 12 to 18. I have always enjoyed music and singing. My mother sang with the Tabernacle Choir for most of my life so I was raised listening to gospel music.
