Hi I'm Kristi

I like to sing, I like to cook. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am attending college, and am studying Family, Human and Consumer Development. I enjoy helping people, and spend time each week volunteering at a care center for the elderly. I am married to a wonderful man who is studying to be a mechanical engineer, and we love to spend time playing guitar and piano together. I like to cook, and am always on pinterest looking for a new recipe to try. I love watching the Big Bang Theory and reading Brandon Sanderson books in my spare time. I grew up in Arizona, and miss the pool we had in our back yard and the time spend swimming in the desert heat. I don't care too much for the snow and cold, but it is fun when we get out snowboarding in the mountain and making the most of where we live.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have felt the love of my Heavenly Father in everything I do. In the Book of Mormon, there is a scripture in Moroni 10:4-5 that tells us to pray to find out if the words in the book are true. I have prayed about it many times, at different points in my life, and have always felt the feeling of confirmation that reminds me that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true. I have seen the influences of a supreme being in my every day life, from people I meet, places I've been, and opportunities I've had. I have felt an overwhelming sense of peace when I pray for comfort. I know that we have a living prophet on the earth today, and his name is Thomas S. Monson. I know that he speaks the words of God and that by following him, we will not be led astray. I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon through divine instruction. I believe in the power of the priesthood, and of the blessings of the temple. I know that families are forever, and that this world is not the end of our existence. Most of all, I know that Jesus Christ lives today, and that he loves me. I know that he atoned for my sins, and for the sins of everyone who ever has and ever will live on this earth. I believe with all my heart that through repentance in His name and through enduring to the end we can be saved and live with Him and our Heavenly Father again through the Eternities.

How I live my faith

In my church, I am in charge of doing music time with the children ages 2-12. We learn songs that teach us about our savior's love and His plan for us on earth. Because of my piano skills, I also play piano for many of the opening and closing songs we sing during our worship, which is something I really enjoy because I always feel very close to my Heavenly Father when singing and playing music as praise to Him. Each month, I take some time out of my day to go visit other women in our church and neighborhood, to make sure their needs are being met, and to help build our friendships that we have made. Some of my favorite times are spending time with the other women in my neighborhood, because it is time to step away from the craziness of the day and just enjoy another's company.
