Hi I'm Jessica

I'm a mom, I'm a wife, I'm a nerd, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in my little desert town that has been my home for 28 years. I love my family! I've always been a homebody. I used to prefer to watch tv with my Mom and Dad rather than go out with friends. Now I love hanging out with my Husband and my two sweet munchkins . Besides hanging out with my family which is my absolute favorite, I'm a coupon-er, I tend to short-term dabble in all sorts of arts and crafts (painting, photography, sewing, cake making, etc.), I love nerdy books, TV shows and movies, and I love to travel. I've been to the Caribbean, Mexico, Canada, and half the states on the US, but I have to say my favorite places to travel so far have been Hawaii and Alaska. Someday I want to live in a cabin in the forest somewhere and climb mountains and go on hikes every day.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents who were members of the Mormon church. I've gone since I was a baby. As I grew up going to the LDS church I always loved it. The things I was taught made me feel good in my heart, even when I was a kid. As I grew older the teachings not only made me feel good, but they made perfect sense to my mind. I was so grateful to grow up knowing about my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Even though I had gone to the Mormon church since I was a baby I had my own personal conversion at the age of 20. I had to take a step back and ask, "even though this has been my church since I was little, and I love and believe it, is it THE TRUE church?" I did a lot of praying and a lot of listening for answers. I finally got my own personal answer that the path I was on, that I had been on my whole life was the correct one. That this church's teachings were true. Since this time in my life, my love for my faith, and my trust for God has continued to grow and build on itself. I absolutely know that God knows each one of us individually. We are his Children, He cares about all the details of our lives. Knowing this makes every day of my very blessed life that much more joyful.

How I live my faith

I volunteer as a leader of the young women (ages 12-18) of our church. They amaze me. They are so strong in their values and they have so much love for those around them. They are always willing and excited to serve. They truly know what it means to be like Christ. I love to teach my kids about God and Jesus Christ and I can see the great influence it has on their attitudes and outlook on life. I do my best to help anyone else that I come in contact with that could use help. I'm still learning to recognize opportunities when people are in need. I often don't realize that I can help until the opportunity has already passed me by. But the more I try the more I see opportunities to love and uplift others. And it makes me really happy. There are so many people around us that need our love.
