Hi I'm Johanna Wood

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am passionate about writing. Currently I am studying social services. My family is everything to me. My parents are my inspiration and my younger siblings (two brothers and two sisters) are my best friends. Having been home-schooled, we are all really close. I served as a missionary in the Philippines Laoag Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

In short, I am a Mormon because this is the Church of Jesus Christ and I know it! One night, as I was studying my scriptures, I came across the following verses in the book of Alma: "I say unto you, can you imagine to yourselves that ye hear the voice of the Lord, saying unto you, in that day: Come unto me ye blessed, for behold, your works have been the works of righteousness upon the face of the earth? I say unto you, can ye look up to God at that day with a pure heart and clean hands? I say unto you, can you look up, having the image of God engraven upon your countenances?" I had read those verses many times, but it was as if I could suddenly see them in a completely new light. They had really impressed me and as I thought about them, the Holy Ghost was able to testify to me. I was able to imagine myself standing before my Heavenly Father after I had lived my life. I had exercised faith in Jesus Christ, repented, been baptised, received the gift of the Holy Ghost and endured to the end. Because I had kept all of my covenants, I was able to hear the voice of my Heavenly Father and He had said: “Come unto me, my daughter. You have lived a worthy life and are now able to live with me in my kingdom.” I remember a feeling of complete peace and joy settling over me as I was embraced by my Heavenly Father. It literally felt as if I were returning home. After that experience, I realised that all I wanted was to have my imaginations become my reality. I am a Mormon because the only way that I can return to my Heavenly Father is through being a faithful member of His Church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith constantly, throughout every single day of my life. I try to always remember who I am (a daughter of a loving Heavenly Father) and I seek the guidance of my Heavenly Father in every decision that I make in my life. I am constantly striving to become a true disciple of Jesus Christ by praying always, studying my scriptures daily, keeping my covenants and following the promptings of the Holy Ghost.
