Hi I'm Megan Porter

I'm from San Diego, California. I'm serving in the Taiwan Taichung mission. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a sophomore at Brigham Young University studying pre-management. I love listening to music and having mini dance parties. I love having midnight talks with my roommates while consuming ice cream. I'm serving a mission in Taiwan and am learning Mandarin Chinese. I'm currently in the Provo MTC studying Mandarin all-day every-day. Being on my mission has been such a growing time for me. The amount of humility, charity, and patience I need to succeed is such an incredible amount, but I am working on increasing my abilities. Through the Lord I know I can overcome any obstacle and I can become a better person and better missionary.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of my chosen desire to continually grow closer to God and do good for those around me. I was born into a Mormon family in which I am so grateful for because of the knowledge I have of this church, but this is not the only reason why I choose to be a Mormon. My family situation did impact my life but I am choosing to continue on this path because of my own love for this church. I know that this church is true. I know that through Jesus Christ's Atonement our shortcomings can be rectified so we can return into His presence again. I am so grateful for this church in my life because of the direction it has given me. I know that God loves me and a big part of that knowledge came from being a member of this Church.

How I live my faith

As a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I represent our Savior, Jesus Christ. I strive to develop a greater amount of His perfect attributes each day as I serve and teach others about His gospel. I have faith that He can help me through the difficulties that come from learning Mandarin Chinese and being so out of my element, here at the MTC. I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to be a full time missionary because of how I can continually grow and develop my relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and be closer to Them.
