Hi I'm Julie Andrew

I'm a midwestern girl, raised by westerners, and raising my family in the east. I love to sing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the mother of five beautiful children and the wife of one great husband. I love to read and write. I write about our family adventures and read about other's real life adventures and history. I enjoy singing in a couple of choirs but my favorite time is singing to my children at bedtime or occasionally with friends. I spend quite of bit of time in the car as a free taxi driver but I don't mind since it gives me time to chat with my kids or listen to books on CD.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Mormon household yet whenever someone asks at church, "Who is a convert?" I always think every hand should go up. We all must gain our own testimony of Christ and His life, example and atonement whether it was taught to us by our parents from a young age or missionaries at another time. I'm a Mormon because I've read scriptures, I've prayed on my knees to God to know if this is his gospel and what he expects of me in this life. I know Jesus Christ is my personal Savior and that we have a loving Heavenly Father that has a plan for us that reaches back before we were born and stretches past our death into eternity. Although challenges arise, he has given us the tools we need to grow and overcome all we encounter in this life. God loves us, I know he loves me and my family even if he doesn't fix every problem we have immediately. No good parent would but if we turn to him he will teach us and help us find joy.

How I live my faith

At church we all take turns serving each other in a variety of ways. I've been a children's music conductor, taught lessons on Sunday or helped organize them and I've worked with teenagers helping them to learn how to be teachers and leaders now and in the future. No matter where I've served it's always brought me closer to Christ and my Heavenly Father as I try to do what they would do in any given situation. Through prayer and scripture study and work I try to serve them by serving others but every time I end up being the one to benefit. It's a nice arrangement.
