Hi I'm Tess

I am from Gilbert, Arizona. I am a college student studying Anthropology and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student studying Anthropology/Archaeology and I love to learn especially about people who have gone before me. I love to study and read nonfiction. I love athletics and participating in sports. I played basketball for most of my life until I had a surgery on my chest to keep it from crushing my heart. I love yoga and crafting. I love to travel and experience new places, especially with my family. They are what matter most to me here on earth and they are my best friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the joy and peace that being a member of Christ's church brings. I find that life is already a difficult journey on its own and I have no idea what I would do without the knowledge that I have. Knowing that I have a Father in Heaven who I can talk to whenever I want through prayer and also to know that my Savior Jesus Christ suffered and bore every burden that I will ever feel brings me a comfort that no one can ever take away. Through the gospel of Jesus Christ I know that I can be with my family for eternity, even past this temporary earthly life. I strive everyday to live my life as Christ would and when I do so I have a pure joy that I hold close to my heart and cherish so much.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving my community and those around me. Currently, I serve in my church by teaching the two year olds in nursery class. I love the simplicity that teaching these young children brings and how I am able to remember the love that the Lord has for me and for all of his other children. I live my faith by being an example to those around me as I work to maintain my standards and have high respect for myself and for others. I work to keep my dress modest and my language, thoughts, and actions clean. I am preparing to serve a mission for the Lord by learning to better love each of his children and conduct my actions by emulating Christ's teachings.
