Hi I'm Elder Telles

I'm a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I'm serving in the Utah Salt Lake City South Mission. I'm BR.

About Me

There are few things that I really enjoy to do. I like to skateboard, play video games, go to the beach, play guitar and camping. I love music. I love computers and technology. I'll be going to college at the end of my mission. Probably for I.T. I've learned English just by playing video games and communicating with other people through it. I had a good childhood in Brazil. Playing soccer on the streets, playing video games and card games with my friends and a lot of other things that we do in Brazil for fun. I love animals. I have 4 dogs and one cat in Brazil.

Why I am a Mormon

I was not a member of the church. I met the Church through a friend. She invited me to go to seminary (a class where we study the Scriptures) and I declined her first invitation, mostly because of a pre-concept. Then, in another day, perhaps another week, she invited me again, and since I didn't had anything else to do I accepted. I still remember the feeling that I had when I first entered the chapel. I like to describe it as "the same feeling that we have when we go back home after a long journey". I felt that I was in home. So I continued going to seminary, everyday. Then, to Sunday meetings. Then, the missionaries started teaching me about how the gospel of Jesus Christ was restored and how God shows his love by calling a prophet again. They invited me to pray to know if the things that they were teaching are true. I did it and I've received an answer that they are. Then, the missionaries invited me to be baptized by the proper authority, the Priesthood authority of God. I accepted but my parents thought that I was to young to make that decision. I was 14 at that time. But I knew that the church is true, that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, that he restored the true church of Jesus Christ and the Priesthood authority of God. So I continued going to seminary and Sunday meetings and after 2 years, at the age of 16, I was baptized. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church of Christ. I know that through this gospel you can find even more happiness in your life. Just like I did. I know that it can bring hope and peace to you and your family. I know that only through the priesthood authority you can be forever with your family.

How I live my faith

I'm a missionary of the church. As missionaries we go throughout the world preaching the gospel to everyone. Our purpose is to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored Gospel through: 1- Faith in Jesus Christ and his Atonement (The sacrifice that he did to pay for our sins) 2- Repentance 3- Baptism 4- Receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost 5- Enduring to the end I also live my faith by serving and helping others. For example helping someone with the yard, moving, lifting heavy things, etc. One important thing that I do to live my faith is studying the scriptures everyday.
