Hi I'm Sue

I'm a kiwi from New Zealand, I'm a Caterer, I Make Wedding Cakes, I'm a Grandmother of 12 and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I love being part of a big busy family. I'm married to my best friend Dave and we have six wonderful children and 12 adorable grandchildren. At the moment we have some of them living with us. Theres 10 of us! Fun and frolics EVERY DAY! Family is deffinitely what its all about! I have a small catering business and also Make wedding cakes. Its a great creative outlet. Theres nothing like dropping off and setting up the cake for someones big day. I love it. I also work part time at a Distribution Centre when they need me. As a grown up I still get to play 'shops' all day. My life is full and fun and fabulous!

Why I am a Mormon

My mother became a Mormon soon after I was born. My father was pretty unhappy about it. He didnt let her go to church for some years. She hid her books under the floorboards to avoid contention. I had to wait til I was nearly 13 before he would let me be baptised. Best decision I ever made (apart from Marrying my sweetheart). I'm a kind of no nonsense kind of girl. I have never come across anything in the church that has made me feel uncomfortable or anxious or unsure. I have always felt a sure peace and knowledge that its GOOD and RIGHT and TRUE! I love that we're all encouraged to pray about everything to find out for ourselves. to KNOW for ourselves. We dont just have to hope its true - we can KNOW!!! - I KNOW - I truly do. More than I know anything else in this world that God lives and Loves us - more than we realise. That Jesus is our saviour. That he suffered and died for us so that we might repent and change and become better people. The gospel of Jesus Christ makes better people of us! Better wives, better husbands, better mothers and fathers and just better Families and contributors to our communities. You can know too!!!

How I live my faith

I've been helping out with our citys Meals on Wheels programme for 17 years now. I love delivering meals to the sick and elderly who cant get out and about. They've become my friends. I love helping where I can. Sometimes at church I get to feed different groups of people when they come for meetings. It makes me feel like the 'mum of many'. At church I also get to organise any service projects or meal rosters for those who need extra loving. Like New Mums, and the sick. I also get to teach some of the university students once a week a scripture class. Its good for the uni students to have some balance between intellectual and spiritual. I love being with the young ones. They have so much energy and are our hope for the future. I also get to travel quite a bit with my husband on his church assignments, helping others. I get to meet the most wonderful people ever... all trying to live as the Saviour taught to the best they know how. Its an inspiration to see. I love my Saviour. I love my family. I love my life.
