Hi I'm Matt

I'm a university student who loves basketball and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name's Matt and I grew up in the northeastern United States near New York City. Currently I am studying economics at my university and looking forward to graduating and entering the workforce. I enjoy everything about basketball and traveling to new places when I get the chance.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know how much the Gospel of Jesus Christ has blessed my life. I have developed a relationship with God and I'm grateful for His guiding influence every day. I'm also grateful to know that He cares about me personally. My knowledge of the truth about God's plan for His children was really galvanized for me as I served as a missionary for the church in Santiago, Chile. Before I served, I had come to my own conclusion that the gospel of Jesus Christ was God's plan for His children's happiness. As I studied scriptures and met and spoke with many strangers about principles I knew to be true, I saw how happy it made them to know that God really had a plan for them and that He cared about their relationship with Him. Serving as a missionary made me realize how blessed I am and helped me learn to focus more outward and less on myself. I'm grateful for my experience as a missionary because it made me realize how I could help other people be more optimistic about life despite difficult challenges and find answers to seemingly unexplainable occurrences. Giving the gospel a place in my life has given me purpose and a strong framework to build my life around. Having an eye towards eternity instead of just until life is over really guides my every day decisions. I'm optimistic about the future and look forward to making the world a better place every day for other people.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by letting it guide the small things in my life. I try to make my interactions with other people be uplifting, inspiring, and encouraging. There's a lot of things in the world that can make people discouraged or feel left out because they've lost sight of why they're here and how much God loves them. I try to be someone that helps other people remember how great life really is. I study scriptures and look for other inspiring things to remind me of God's love and sense of humor.
