Hi I'm Brianna

I'm a college student. I'm CNA. I'm a swimmer. I'm a Harry Potter nerd. I'm a Mormon. :)

About Me

I'm a 19-year-old college student and work as a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant). I am planning on becoming either a Geriatric Nurse or a Neonatal Nurse "when I grow up" (haha, I can't decide which end of the spectrum best suits me yet). Obviously one of my favorite things to do is read, I love romance novels, fiction, biographies, and of course, Harry Potter. Music is an important part of my life. I started learning the piano at age 7 and find peace and escape in pounding away at it. My family is my everything. I have 3 sisters and love them to pieces. Some people tell my parents that it must be hard having only daughters, but I think it is the best thing ever.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. Even though it has been a part of my whole life I still needed to gain a testimony for myself. Simply relying on and trusting my parent's testimonies isn't enough. I am a Mormon by my own choice. I feel that my childhood and early teenage years was a time of continuous conversion for me. I learned little by little. In those early teenage years I had doubts sometimes and would question what I once knew as a child. I still went to church and did all the things "I was supposed to do" but my faith wavered. I found that as I read the scriptures, prayed sincerely, attended church meetings, and strived to become like the Savior that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church of Christ. I came to realize that I didn't need a sudden giant conversion, but that I had a life long conversion experience. Little things and moments such as peace when I attended church, the feeling of warmth and and happiness when I read the Book of Mormon, comfort when I was distressed and prayed for help, and the feeling that it is all true pounding in my heart every time I shared my testimony. I may not have a perfect understanding but I do know that it is true. Being a Mormon has blessed my life in so many ways. It gives me direction in life, comfort when I am in difficult times, peace to know that I can be with my family forever, and that through Christ's Atonement I can become clean and pure again when I do my part.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying my best each day to become more like our Savior Jesus Christ. His life was a life of service, kindness, and sacrifice. Currently I am serving a mission in the wonderful state of Washington. I am putting my college education on hold for these 18 months. This is something that I have had a desire to do since I was a young girl. I want to share all that the gospel has with others. During this mission I spend each and every day sharing the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ and my testimony of its truthfulness . Before coming to serve in Washington I had a calling to teach Sunday school lessons in church to the young children in my area. I prepared lessons that would help them understand Christ's Gospel on their level, whether they were 3 and 4 years old or 10 years old. When I serve others I feel myself coming closer to Christ.
