Hi I'm Geoff

I have lived in Alaska, California, Michigan and Utah. I'm an exercise physiologist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently graduated with a Master of Science degree in exercise physiology. I enjoy weight lifting, running and most sports. My wife and I have been married for 6 years and we have two beautiful daughters and another girl on the way. My house is not pink, but most of the clothes and toys inside my home are pink (including the toaster!). I love spending time with my girls. Reading, watching tv or just going out on a walk are all more fun with my ladies. I think this is as close to a ladies' man that I will ever be.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were members of the church when I was born. I have always attended this church. That is not to say that I have never had questions or doubts. As a youth I knew that I wanted to know for myself that this church was the church of Jesus Christ. I read my scriptures and prayed dutifully. I attended my meetings. It always felt right, but I never had that moment where the Holy Ghost testified to my heart that this was the Church of Christ. One night while reading in the Book of Mormon I had a strong impression that this church was the same church that Christ organized when he lived in Jerusalem. It had been taken from the Earth and later restored to a modern-day prophet. I knelt down and asked God if the impression I felt was Him telling me that this was the Church of Jesus Christ. I felt an intense peace penetrate my body. I did not hear a voice nor did I have a visitation from some heavenly messenger. I felt peace in my heart and more joy than I had previously felt. I knew that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was the true church of Jesus Christ. Do I doubt? Sure. Do I Question? Of course. Do I have an experience that I can look back to where the Holy Ghost testified to me personally that this church was true? Yes. And that makes all the difference. Doubts, Questions, Frustrations are meaningless once you have felt the Holy Ghost testify to your heart that these things are true.

How I live my faith

I love attending church on a weekly basis. It strengthens me and fortifies me for the next week. Right now I am working with the leader of our congregation as his secretary. It is my job to sit in on meetings with him and take notes. It has been a pleasure to see how much love he has for our congregation. His concern is for each person in our neighborhood whether they actively attend meetings or are not even members of the same church. Attending church as a family helps us become a stronger family. As we sit together and listen to talks about our Savior Jesus Christ, His Atonement, God's plan for us, and much more we become more determined to put our will with our Heavenly Father's will for us.
