Hi I'm Robert

I grew up in rural south Georgia, the son of teachers. I'm a dentist, husband, and friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hey y'all I just graduated from dental school and have FINALLY joined the working force full time. I grew up in rural south Georgia the son of two teachers, I don't hunt, and I do not own a truck or listen to country music on a regular basis. I played sports and music all throughout my childhood and teenage years, and am still a HUGE sports fan. I lived in Thailand for two years as a missionary after high school. I love spending time with my amazing wife and Jack Russell/beagle mix dog that acts like a cat. We love spending time together trying new restaurants, going to concerts, or having game nights with friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I consider myself lucky to be born a Mormon and live in an area that does not have a heavy Mormon population. I never had a real 'aha' moment where I knew the doctrine taught within the Church was true, but instead it was a slow but powerful process. Growing up in a predominantly Protestant community helped me build my testimony because it helped me to see firsthand the the blessings that come from following God's commandments and knowing who I am, why I'm here, and where we go after we leave this earth. I was challenged daily to live the standards a loving Heavenly Father has set for me, and that constant challenge molded me into who I am today. I am grateful for a loving family that supported me throughout my youth, and for a loving wife that I married in God's temple so that I have the opportunity to spend all eternity with her. I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of our Father in Heaven, that he atoned for our sins and died on the cross for us, and that it is only through Him that we can return to live with our Father again. I also know that just as He has done in the Old Testament God revealed himself to the prophet Joseph Smith and restored his Church upon the earth again so that we may have the fullness of His gospel in our day. I know that we currently have a prophet living upon the earth who's name is Thomas S. Monson. I know that true happiness can be found through obedience to His commandments, and that His gospel has been given to us to bless us and our families.

How I live my faith

In my local church group, I am currently one of the leaders of the 12-18 year old boys (we call them young men) as well as the scoutmaster for the church's Boy Scouts of America Troop. It's an honor and privilege to volunteer and work with the youth through both the church and Boy Scouts. We do many service projects around the local community, as well as serving the church community.
