Hi I'm Shaun Barrowes

I write anthems for Unsung Heroes.

About Me

I'm a singer-songwriter - I've been fortunate in my career to be Nominated for an EMMY, make the Top 30 on American Idol, and perform for hundreds of thousands of people on my North American and European tours. I've spent the last few years raising money for music and arts programs in schools with the hopes that we will keep these programs in our public schools. My hope is to use whatever influence I've achieved over the years to inspire kids across the world to grow closer to God through the use of their talents. I'm married to my beautiful wife, and I hope to take her along with me on my next tour to introduce her to all the beautiful people and cultures I've come across in my travels.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a Mormon, but I still needed to know for myself. My parents taught me well, but it wasn't until I was on my own in the mission field where I discovered my conviction. As soon as my mission president called me to be a senior companion, I knew I had to take responsibility to lead someone else. It was in this moment of realization where I finally understood why I was here on this Earth. It was in this epiphany where I realized how important my mission was and how much the gospel had blessed my life. The peace and happiness I've felt by living the gospel is unparalleled to anything else in this world. As a musician in Los Angeles, I was signed to a major record label and was constantly surrounded by people who didn't share my values. They looked down on my values and would consider me young and naive for believing the things that I did. Because I was forced to stand up for what I believe time and time again, my testimony grew and solidified into a rock solid foundation I could rely on. I continue to rely on this foundation today, as I go about my own solo tours and come across countless youth who are still wondering what direction to go in their own lives. I hope my conviction inspired them to find the same conviction within themselves.

How I live my faith

In my concerts, I often address my audience and talk a little bit about my faith and how it has helped me in my life. I also try to be the best example to those who look up to me. I'm also very active on social media and will post and share inspirational messages from our church leaders on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
