Hi I'm BJ Petersen

I grew up in in a Protestant church .I am a wife, mom, grandma. I am a physical therapist. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of six and grandmother of twelve and counting. I recently retired from part-time pediatric physical therapy which I loved doing. I love to read. After years of not so successful attempts I am now a pretty good bread maker and love the smell and taste of fresh bread.

Why I am a Mormon

I started investigating the LDS church when I was a freshman in college. I had no intention of joining, I just found the teachings interesting. I must admit I enjoyed the wholesome living style and friendship of the LDS students on campus. But soon I realized that I did believe the teachings and needed to find out for myself if the teachings were from Heavenly Father. I spent a lot of months investigating the church and attending all the meetings. I knew "by their fruits" that these were good people doing good things. My testimony finally came as the Holy Ghost confirmed to me that this was the path my Heavenly Father wanted me to take. I have never been sorry for that decision. I am very grateful to have the gospel more fully understood and a living prophet to help guide our way back to our heavenly home. I love the Gospel with all my heart and strive to live the teachings each day.

How I live my faith

My faith means everything to me and really is my way of life. I feel like it is not just a Sunday persona I put on, but guides my choices each day. I try to live in a way that is helpful to others and I learn and grow from others around me also. Knowing who I am, where I came from and where I am going is very important to me and helps me make sense out of some of things that happen in life that are really hard to understand. I am so grateful to have a "road map" of the kind of things that not only make me happy now, but will help me to be happy for eternity.
