Hi I'm Wes Marriott

I love my family, I'm an entrepreneur, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As the tenth child of eleven, I grew up in a rambunctious atmosphere of love, competition, and faith. In my youth, I looked up to those people who were given to me as companions, and they inspired me to become what I have become. I am currently finishing up my senior year of college, and then will take a consulting job in California. I love business. During my college experience I have been a part of a number of start up businesses, some of which have led me to being on TV, selling products to Celebrities, working long hours into the night, but most importantly, making powerful connections with people I will never forget. I am an athlete at heart, I love sports, I love the thrill of winning and playing. Sometimes I dream that if I had worked hard enough, I could have played on a college team. But that time has passed and I will always enjoy a pickup game of anything. Most of all, what defines me, but also inspires me is my faith.

Why I am a Mormon

With the millions of churches in the world, one would ask, why be Mormon? Isn't that a weird or fanatical church? It is a valid question for those who don't know the doctrine of the church. I have studied and thought and prayed about many doctrines, and earlier in my life even thought about the existence of God. But I have been through a lot in my short life and I have seen a lot and felt a lot, but nothing comes close to the feelings I receive from my friend and Father than when I am doing His will, in His church. I have had doubts, I have had questions, but long hours of conversation with the God that millions of churches worship, has taught me that I am where I need to be. This is Christ's church, it is His only church, and I feel privileged to have been taught and shown that this is His. And because of it, I would love and will help all people to try to understand and put in the effort to know His doctrine.

How I live my faith

I love service, but I always say that I love serving because it's a two way street. It makes me feel as good as the people I'm serving. To me, Heavenly Father has given us only a few ways to mutually uplift one another, and one of them is service. When love is shared, we serve. When we pick up some garbage on the ground so that others can enjoy a clean environment, we serve. When we give a hug, we serve. When we share a kind word, we serve. When we say a heartfelt prayer to God, we serve. When we support a friend through a hard time, we serve. When we learn books and subjects to the best of our ability, we serve by being prepared. Everything we do that makes us feel like we are at our best, when we are our happiest, and when God is the happiest, it is generally because, directly or indirectly, we are trying our best to serve others and God. As Christ said, the two great commandments are to serve God, and serve your neighbor. Everything hinges on service. And that is what Christ did for me, he served. I want to help people to know this truth.
