Hi I'm Kalli

I grew up in Utah but seven months ago I moved to Florida, where I have entered into the mission field.

About Me

I play college Volleyball at the State College of Florida. I lived in Argentina for two months when I was sixteen. While living there I learned that sometimes less is more. And I love taking pictures, it shows me the beauty in the world around us.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Well for the longest time, all I could say to answer this question, is that I was born into this religion and it suited me so I continued to go. But now that I have moved across the country to a place where nobody knew my name let alone my religion, I know for a fact that this is not just the gospel I was born into, but actually the gospel I chose to live and believe in. It is not always easy being a Mormon. Before living in Florida I never knew the meaning of driving an hour to and from church. I never felt the pull of peers, and even teachers, to act differently than I was taught, but I also never knew the happiness, and joy I could feel from making those tough decisions, and sticking to the things I know. This is not to say that I don't make mistakes, but it is to say that I know even with all of my faults, I can be forgiven and return to live with my Father in Heaven one day. I am a Mormon because I know that this is the true and living church, I know the things it teaches are true, and if applied to life, will not only help you, but save you. I know that no matter how alone I may feel, my Heavenly Father is just a short prayer away. I am a Mormon, not just because I was born into the gospel, but because I moved far enough away that I was able to chose for myself if I knew this church was true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith to the best of my abilities. I am the only Mormon on my Volleyball team, and they notice everything that I do, so I have to be extra careful about the things I say and do. I love this gospel, I love teaching it, going out on splits with the missionaries, and I love that it has guided my life and brought me to this beautiful place I now call home. I don't know where I would be without the church and the Standards it requires of me, but I do know that without it I would not be the woman I am today. When I moved from small town Utah all the way out to Florida, it was a shock to say the least. But after having lived in this wonderful place for now seven months, I have learned the kind of person that I am, what I really believe to be true, and the places I want to go. I really do love to see the temples, and I cannot wait until I go inside one day.
