Hi I'm Robert

I moved around a lot when I was young, now I'm a teacher in Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I'm Robert and my wife and I have four kids, two boys and two girls. I teach elementary school and my wife was a teacher before she decided to stay at home to raise the kids. I love to teach kids, read fiction and nonfiction, and enjoy the great Utah outdoors through biking, hiking, and driving. I have partial paralysis on my right side after having brain surgery to remove an AVM the size of a golf ball; but I don't let it get me down!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I love the focus on Christ, the family, and God's plan for us. His plan that if we follow it and do our best, we can maintain the relationships of husband and wife and children after we die. I'm a Mormon because I believe that even though hard, unfair, or bad things happen to us that God allows these things to happen to teach us humility, patience, long-suffering, love, kindness, in short, to teach us to have charity. He loves us and when we follow His plan and live His gospel, we can know true happiness.

How I live my faith

We love going to church together as a family. We try to get there a little early to enjoy the beautiful and spiritual music being played on the organ or piano before the meeting starts. The younger kids are restless, but even they calm down a bit and listen. I work with the teenagers in the church and get to sit in their classes and help with teaching on occasion. It's amazing how insightful their comments or questions can be. My wife teaches the younger kids in the church songs about Christ and his gospel and she has done that for years and still loves it! We try our best to teach and love our children, and my students at school, the way we believe that Christ would. He is our exemplar in all things.
