Hi I'm Steven

I was born and raised in the Utah-Idaho region. I am studying Mechanical Engineering. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the Utah-Idaho area. I am am currently studying Mechanical Engineering, and love it. I've always enjoyed designing and building. When I was young, I would play with K'NEX, Lego's, and Bionicles, building whatever struck my fancy. When I was a sophomore in high school, I designed my own pedal bike frame. Then the following summer, I built it out of carbon fiber. I still ride it today. My next project was to build "The Perfect Desk", which took 2 semesters of my senior year. For the last 2 years of high school, I participated in my school's Vex robotics team, which participated in the world championship the first year I was in it. I enjoy hiking, camping, biking, horseback riding, and just about anything having to do with the outdoors, although admittedly I get out much less than I'd like to.

Why I am a Mormon

It's simple: I am a Mormon because I have received a personal witness from the Holy Ghost that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is truly Christ's restored church. I have also received a witness that God is my spirit Heavenly Father. Jesus Christ, his son, came to the earth and successfully completed the Atonement, making it possible for me to not only be forgiven of my sins, but saved from them so I can return to God's presence. The Book of Mormon is a true book of scripture, and was translated by Joseph Smith, through the gift and power of God. Joseph Smith was a prophet, called of God and given his holy priesthood, or the power to act in his name and do his work. That power is the same power that was given to prophets of old, and the apostles of Christ's day, which enables the work of miracles to commence as it did then. President Thomas S Monson is the Lord's prophet that has been called to lead his church today as directed by Christ himself. These things I know of myself, of a surety that comes only through the witness of the Holy Ghost, which is why I have chosen to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Living the principles taught here are the only way to find true joy in life, and oh how exquisite it is! There is no greater feeling than that obtained by living the gospel through service to others, and personal obedience to God's Commands.

How I live my faith

I have been called to be a teacher in the church, and enjoy preparing and leading gospel discussions about once per month as part of our church worship. I have received a call, and will soon leave to serve a full-time mission for 2 years in Australia.
