Hi I'm Jedd

I'm a Father, Facilities Manager, Small Business Owner, Landlord and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I enjoy almost all athletics but have competitively participated in Basketball, High Jump, 400 M, Swimming, Softball, Soccer, Volleyball and Horseshoe throwing (does that count?) The older I get the more I enjoy watching rather than playing. I am happily married and have 6 children - one of whom we were lucky enough to adopt. I consider myself an entrepreneur at heart and still looking for the "right" opportunity to fully throw myself into.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe God has answered my prayers regarding the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, the prophet Joseph Smith, and the feelings I have as I live gospel principle. I know life can be hard. It's hard for Mormons too. I know it helps to understand God's plan for his children. God has given us our agency. Although God loves all of his children unconditionally - he offers those who obey true principles additional blessings. As a result their lives are more satisfying, peaceful, and happier than they would otherwise be. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ and feel extremely grateful for His atoning sacrifice in my behalf. I'm a Mormon because I believe "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints" to be the Church of Jesus Christ. I believe Jesus directs the church through living prophets. I remain a member of the church because I continue to receive answers to prayers and spiritual confirmation that the principles I am taught and try to implement will bring me closer to God.

How I live my faith

We attend church every week. My wife and I have been asked to teach the 12 year old kids in our congregation gospel principles every Sunday. It gives us an opportunity to learn the gospel better as we prepare to teach that class. I try to live as leaders of the church direct. I try to overcome temptation and fail regularly but I'm making slow and steady improvement. We attempt to hold a family devotional each morning and say our evening prayers but with 5 teenagers in the house it can be challenging. I try to share my feelings about my savior Jesus Christ when the opportunity presents itself because I believe it will bless their lives.

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

Jedd
I attribute the growth of the church to the values it teaches without apology. In a world where values are rapidly declining the church holds firm to God's laws because they are His laws. This may not be popular with many, but to a growing number of people recognizing the trend, it is a position more and more desirable - especially to those who desire to hold their families together.
