Do you want to chat with a missionary?

We are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Hi I'm Katy O.

I am a BYU student. I'm a happy wife. I served in the New Hampshire Manchester mission. I am a Mormon!

About Me

I was born and raised a Mormon in a family of four children with both parents. I found a passion for the study of personalities and how to understand people. I am currently enrolled in Brigham Young University with a major in Communications. I love to serve, I love to bake I love making other people happy. I may be an introvert, but I enjoy being able to go out and have a fun, safe time with my friends. I recently got married to an amazing man who I love. I am imperfect, but that is what makes me perfect.

Why I am a Mormon

Without the Gospel in my life, I would feel very lost. Although I have been a member my whole life, I have found that the testimony I have today began during some hard times early on during high school. But, from hard times, comes enlightenment and strength. Since then I have gained a strong personal testimony of the atonement and how the events of Gethsemane and how Christ suffered on the cross for us has given each of us a chance to feel Christ's love daily. I know that our lives here on earth are not easy, and this is not because God wants us to suffer. Instead, I know that God wants us to learn from our mistakes and grow in every way possible as we develop ourselves to be like Christ, who was willing to do anything and everything for each of us individually. Luckily, none of us need to suffer what Christ suffered, but we can show our gratitude for the sacrifices He made by keeping His commandments and opening our hearts to Him and our fellow brothers and sisters here on earth with us today. I know that this gospel is true. I know that we have a living prophet on this earth today who helps us to know exactly what God needs us to hear. We are living in difficult times when it is easy to feel confused and lost, but the light that shines by Christ, this gospel, and its members has help me find my way through this world. And I know it can help others, too. I love our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I love God our Father in Heaven, and I love His restored gospel.

How I live my faith

All throughout my youth I found ways to volunteer and help out with church activities and events. By doing so I found a love for the people in the church as well as the gospel itself. I continue this habit as I do my best to include others in my new ward in our activities. I have found the best way for me to stay active in my faith is by serving others as I imagine Christ would do if He were here in my shoes. I love reaching out to those in my direct community as well as the member and non-member friends I have made over the years. Having found a new love for the scriptures, I study and ponder them as often as I can as they are a source of strength to me.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Katy O.
The best way to know that Mormonism is true is by following the counsel given in James 1:5-6. If we ask God through a sincere prayer, desiring to know if these things are true, we will receive the answer. Show more Show less
