Hi I'm Amanda

I am a BYU student, a performer, and a full-time missionary in Copenhagen, Denmark. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of three kids-I have a little sister and a little brother. My family and I are very close. We love teasing each other and spending time together doing the everyday things. I love being outside, especially in the summer. I grew up hiking, camping, swimming, and boating with my friends and family. I have a great appreciation for the beauty of nature and the outdoors! I have been singing and dancing my whole life. I feel so blessed to be pursuing my dreams as a Music Dance Theater major at BYU. I have studied there for 3 years and I absolutely love it! I put my education on hold to serve an 18 month mission for the LDS church in Copenhagen, Denmark. I love being a missionary! I'm excited to be totally immersed in this new culture and share the message of the restored gospel with everyone I meet. I am a firm believer that happiness is a choice. There are always struggles and challenges in life, but I make a conscious effort to focus on the blessings and the simple joys that happen every day. Even in the hardest times, there is always something to be grateful for.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe that living the gospel of Jesus Christ really is the path to eternal happiness. There was a period of time when the gospel wasn't as important to me as it is now, and I can personally testify that the decisions I made during that time did not bring me any long term happiness. I lost sight of who I was and who I could become. The knowledge that I am a daughter of God, that I have a Heavenly Father who is watching over me, and that I have a Savior who died for me gives me so much hope and purpose. I know that this life is a time to learn, grow, overcome challenges with the help of our Savior, and find joy through living the gospel of Jesus Christ. There really is so much that the Lord wants to bless us with, and so much happiness to be found in living the gospel! I love it more than anything.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by remembering my Savior in my daily life. I go to church every Sunday and participate in my ward, but truly living my faith means so much more to me than just Sunday worship. Every day, I try to keep a prayer in my heart that I will make decisions that my Heavenly Father would be proud of. I acknowledge my blessings and try to treat everyone as a child of God. This attitude has helped my beliefs to become a part of who I am.

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

The Holy Ghost is one of the greatest gifts that God has given his children. The Holy Ghost is a member of the Godhead whose purpose is to dwell in the hearts of those who keep the commandments and desire to have His influence in their lives. I have often compared the Holy Ghost with the concept of a "gut feeling" or "intuition." Listening to the Holy Ghost is similar to following these instincts. The Holy Ghost testifies of truth, warns of danger, guides you as you make important decisions in your life, allows you to feel God's love for you when you are sad, lonely, or discouraged, and fills your heart with love, joy, and peace. Having the gift of the Holy Ghost gives you comfort in the knowledge that you are never alone. Show more Show less
