Hi I'm Michelle

I grew up in Southern California in an LDS family. I am preparing to serve as a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Things I enjoy doing: reading, going to church, spending time with my family, hiking, listening to music, and babysitting. Other things I can do: sew, some arts and crafts, sort of play the piano, bake and cook. Next step in life: Serve as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a Mormon but it wasn't until i was sixteen or seventeen that i truly converted to the gospel. After making some choices that started to pull my interests away from church, i experienced depression and anxiety, I started making more decisions that quickly took my life in a downward spiral. I was unhappy and had basically decided life was not worth living. My mother and leaders from church encouraged me to work on a program from the church for young women called Personal Progress. Personal Progress gives you assignments that help to develop good characteristics and set goals for your life. The last assignment I needed to finish to complete the whole thing was to read The Book of Mormon all the way through. As I started to read, I was doing it more for the sake of being done with Personal Progress and appeasing my mom, then I was for myself. While reading I felt the Spirit that everyone at church talks about, a wonderful, peaceful assurance that told me that told me that the Church and its' teachings are true and correct. I realized that the reason I was so unhappy was because I wasn't living the gospel. As I incorporated the teachings of the church back into my life, I became happier and was able to turn my life around. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only complete and true church on Earth. I know The Book of Mormon to be the word of God. I know Jesus Christ atoned for everyone's sins so that we might repent and return to live with our Heavenly Father. Living the Gospel of Jesus Christ and following the example he set for us is the only way we can be truly happy.

How I live my faith

At church, I am a teacher for the Gospel Principles class. This class includes investigators, new members, the missionaries serving in the area, and anyone else that feels like coming in. I also do my best to take advantage of any other opportunities to serve others in my ward or area.
