Hi I'm Kenneth Kilgore

I'm from Alabama. I am currently serving as a Bishop in my congregation. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have a wonderful wife, two daughters and ten grandchildren all of which bring me great joy! I love all kinds of good music and high tech gadgets. I am a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and graduated with degrees in economics and administrative science. I like good books and going to movies. I have traveled to many different countries and have even lived in a foreign country for four years. I enjoy all my friends at church.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the church. When my upstairs neighbor more than thirty years ago told me about where we came from, why we are here and where we are going when we leave here, I knew it was true. He explained that we are all Heavenly Father's children and are here to learn and progress spiritually so that we can return to live with Him again. Not just return to him as individuals but as families. I love knowing that my family can be with me through the eternities and not just during this lifetime. I have learned that no matter what I have done in this life, I can be forgiven and that forgiveness is made possible thought the atonement of Jesus Christ. It took me a while and many lessons from good missionaries to ask Heavenly Father with a sincere heart if this is the church He wants me in. I went alone into my closet, knelt and ask in prayer for an answer. The answer came instantly from the Holy Spirit that this is God's true church. I did not have to take any man's word for it, I just had to ask Heavenly Father. My life has never been better.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as Bishop in my congregation, so my duties at church are varied. I love working with the youth in our area, they are the best. Being the Bishop is a great way to serve because I get to spend time with all of our members from the small children to the elderly. I enjoy working with our missionaries and sharing what I have learned with everyone. I have been truly blessed.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Kenneth Kilgore
The Bible is a witness of Jesus Christ and His atonement and is thus a sacred record and the word of God. The Book of Mormon is another witness of Christ and it supports the Bible. Show more Show less
