Hi I'm James

I grew up in Texas, USA. have a career as an Industrial /Manufacturing engineer. I'm a father of 6. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Clearly, the focus of my life is my family and keeping them happy and progressing to adulthood. We have several children on the autism spectrum; and they have been a great blessing. They think and act "out of the box" so it keeps us challenged. As I read many books and papers about higher functioning autism to help my children I discovered many similarities to my own experience growing and now. I found many answers to why I see the world differently. I am not far different from from my children, just a few years down the road with more coping skills. I am re-learning many things from this experience that is helping me to be a better person and a more understanding father and husband.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, served a mission, married in the temple, multiplied and replenished the earth while trying to do what is right, of course I have often needed the power of the Atonement through repentance in my life. I testify that the sacrifice of Jesus Christ is in force today.

How I live my faith

As a Mormon, I try to live the teachings of the Savior. We are given a great amount of guidance from living prophets, scriptures and personal inspiration. I do not feel I am being told to do anything, but my life experience tells me that obedience in all things is the only way to happiness, long lasting happiness. The best calling I have recently had is as a Cub Scout leader. The boys are so quick to let me know how they feel, bored or excited, happy or bored. My challenge was to help them learn while keeping them out of the bored zone. This meant I had to show up with my "A" game.
