Hi I'm Mariah

I was born and raised in Las Vegas. I'm an Aunt. I play sports. I enjoy nature. I love music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I play the flute, piano, guitar, harmonica, I can whistle, and I enjoy singing. I have loved music for as long as I can remember. My mom always tells me that before I could even talk, I could sing, "I Believe In Christ". There is a connection there, because I believe that I have always believed in Christ and even at that very young age, I couldn't help but to sing about it. Music helps me to express that knowledge and the love that I have for my Savior, Jesus Christ. That is why I love it so much. Through music, I receive again and again, the confirmation from the Holy Ghost, testifying that Jesus is the Christ, and that He loves me. I recently had the opportunity to be in The Forgotten Carols choir presented by Michael McLean. It was a great experience and a great way to feel and remember the true meaning of Christmas. I have always been very active in sports. I play basketball and tennis, but I also enjoy playing every other sport there is to play. I enjoy learning new things. In high school I learned a lot about the human body, sports medicine, and the medical field. I find different languages, cultures, history, and musical instruments intriguing. I love nature and enjoy to be outside among God's creations and just marvel at how wonderful they all are. I love animals. I have a large family and I love to spend time and play games with them. I enjoy having singing sessions with my sister and mom and singing and playing instruments for my nieces and nephews.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the peace, joy, happiness, knowledge, the gift and companionship of the Holy Ghost, service opportunities, great opportunities in general, answers to prayers, answers to questions, repentance and forgiveness, Priesthood power, Priesthood authority, The Book of Mormon, the fact that I can be with my family for all of eternity, an even bigger extended family (consisting of the church members) who are always there when you need them, the wonderful example of my faithful mom, and the abundance of blessings that come to me and my family from being a member of Jesus Christ's church. Many blessings have come to my family and me that help us to know that this is His Church, and that this is the path He wants us on. All of the callings that I have been able to be apart of in this church have taught me lessons and presented different learning and service opportunities that I could not have received any place else, and for that I am grateful. These callings have blessed my life and have strengthened my testimony in Jesus Christ because He is the reason for my service. By serving in different callings, I have had moments where Heavenly Father has touched my heart to be able to see and feel how much He loves His children, each one, individually. And those moments let me know how much he truly loves me. And when that happens, it inspires me to live how He lived and to do what He would do if He were standing right there next to me. Those moments help me to love others like He loves them. Doing what He would have me do brings joy, peace and happiness. It makes Heavenly Father happy too. I am a Mormon because I have received the confirmation and I know for myself, independent of anyone else, that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God's true church, restored to this earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith. This knowledge and the knowledge of my Savior, Jesus Christ, is the reason that I am a Mormon. I know it. I live it. I love it!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church and accepting church responsibilities. I was always taught to never decline a calling because by so doing, you decline blessings, learning opportunities, and opportunities to serve others. I have always remembered this and whenever a calling is extended to me, I faithfully, gratefully, and gladly accept. I have had the privilege to serve in class presidencies in the young women youth groups. I was able to be on the Youth Committee. I have served as the Young Single Adult Representative. I have served as the young women's Camp Director. I have also participated in visiting teaching where I and another sister go visit other women in our area and share with them a brief spiritual message and visit with them and make sure all of their needs are met. I have had opportunities to substitute in nursery and primary where I am able to teach the young children, which I really enjoy doing because I learn so much. Presently, I am preparing to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have been called to serve in New York City, to share the gospel message with the people there.
