Hi I'm Erin

I am a Californian. I volunteer in our community teaching classes on emergency preparedness. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of 4.They keep me very busy. I have gone back to college to get my bachelors in human resources with a minor in emergency management. I have realized I should have done it while I was young, it's a lot harder when you have a family to take care of. I am an instructor for CERT or Community Emergency Response Team. Some things I like to do is cook. I like to try 1 new recipe a week. I also like to meet new people. they are so interesting.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all my life, but I come from a family that wasn't active in the mormon church. So as my family moved around, my mom would find the church, and us kids could decide for ourselves whether or not we wanted to attend. Sometimes I would, sometimes I wouldn't. Many times I had to get my own ride if I wanted to go. When I was in highschool I remeber a lesson. It was about testimony and if you had one. i didn't know if i did. I hadn't really ever read the Book of Mormon. So I decided I needed to figure it out. And I stopped coming to church for awhile... Then I had a youth leader who invited me back. As I began coming back I realized how happy I felt when I was doing things that are right. I realized how happy I was to be around people with my same values and beliefs. I realized how much joy I felt as I listened to the counsel of the Prophet and followed it. I realized how my testimony started to blossom as I read the Book Of Mormon. After I finished the Book of Mormon, I asked God if it was true. I am a rebel at heart...so I put it to the test, and each time I did...I knew in my heart with out a shadow of doubt that it was true. I couldn't deny it. I have learned that I do have a tesimony, not only of the Book of Mormon, but also of our Savior Jesus Christ. he is there. He hears and answers my prayers and is as real to me as this profile I am creating. I know it, I feel it. It is a sweet blessing to be able to kneel in prayer and to actually pray to our Father in Heaven and know that He is there. if you are like me, and are a rebel at heart, put it to the test, see foryourself if you feel something, because I know that you are His child, and He loves you as much as he loves me. Just ask Him.

How I live my faith

I am a volunteer in my community. I teach CERT classes to our community members 4 times a year and once a year to our local highschool. I have also helped organize an emergency preparedness fair for the past 5 years. I have callings in the Church. One of them is I am one of the people on the public affairs council, I am over community relations. Can you guess why? LOL I also teach one Sunday out of the month for Relief Society, which is an organization for women in our church. Lots of great things happen there. We put together humanitarian projects, we visit. we eat, we learn from each other. It's a blessed program. I also do something called visiting teaching. Where once a month I get to visit with other women who are assigned to me. I have 3 wonderful people I have the priviledge to see. It's an opportunity for me to make sure they are ok, and to become close friends. I also get to share a spiritual thought. I really enjoy that.
