Hi I'm Lisa

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am a widow, and a mother of three boys.

About Me

I have been a Mormon all of my life. I grew up in Utah. I was sealed to my husband for time and all eternity in 1986 in the Manti Temple. I lost him to a tragic accident in 2001. We had three boys together that I have raised on my own since 2001. I was trained as a dental assistant. I worked in that field as a Orthodontic assistant, cosmetic dental assistant, and a Oral surgeon assistant. When I had my children I was a stay at home mom for ten years. I now work at a high school as a secretary. I enjoy the outdoors very much, to me it is second best to the Temple. It is were I can leave the worldly cares behind and have a witness that God created all things for our good. I enjoy Rodeo, horses, inspiring books, along with great lifelong friendships, and Family.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because it is who I am. I can't be anything else. I Know this is the restored gospel here on earth. I know it is lead by God through our Prophet today even Thomas S. Monson. I know that there is much JOY in living this gospel. Answers to who we are, and why we are here. It Is Truth. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know when I am looking for answers about my life I can find them in the scriptures. I know that comfort is there when you lose a loved one. Families can be together Forever through Heavenly Fathers plan. I know it is the Plan of Happiness! I know that I was given this life by Heavenly Father because he knew I was strong enough to live it !! He believes in me, even when I don't believe in myself. He loves me even when I don't love myself. He reminds me often that I am not in this journey alone, he is always there to guide, comfort and strengthen me when I am in need. He reminds me that all things are possible when he is with me. I am a Mormon because my spirit knows TRUTH.

How I live my faith

I work with the scout program. I get to meet each week with our youth boys and another leader. Together we teach the youth values and skills. Such as promising to do our best to God, our Country, and to help others. I attend all my Church meetings as much as possible. I like to go to the temple as much as I can. At one time I was going once a week, and that was wonderful !! I believe that Family prayer, Family Home Evening, reading scriptures, having wholesome activities, and attending the Temple as a Family is the way to peace in the home and it builds testimonies and keeps us strong as a family in the gospel.
