Hi I'm Jim Wheelwright

I'm a Papa. I'm a retired retailer. I am a Hoosier and love basketball, I am a substitute teacher. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am 63 years old and a husband to my beautiful wife Judy for the last six years. She is a wonderful seamstress and personalizes gifts. She is caring. I am a Father of three children. Angela is my oldest. She is 39, smart and big hearted, a fun character who is but adrift in life currently. She is the mother of 17 year old Chris who is faithful, a good student and a high school basketball MVP. Chris lives with Judy and I in Saint Johns, Florida. We love the beach! And I love basketball! I am from Indiana, the Hoosier state and big basketball country. Melissa(37) is married to Steve, a highly trained fireman and EMT. She is the mother of three great children and the step mother of three more beautiful little ones. She is a social worker and and First Lieutenant in the Utah National Guard. J.J., my 30 year old son. He is a truck driver and the "best" person I know. He is married to the wonderful, kind Maddie. No children yet. I spent 40 years in a retailing career supervising hundreds of stores and thousands of associates. I loved it! I loved the people I worked with! My last big job was with Blockbuster for 20 years. Loved movies too! Fun business! I retired in 2013. I now substitute teach for special need a few days a week. Love the kids! I AM A HUSBAND! I AM A FATHER OF 3! I AM A GRANDPA OF 7! I AM A RETIRED RETAILER! I AM A HOOSIER AND HUGE BASKETBALL FAN! AND I AM A MORMON!

Why I am a Mormon

I knew Mormon people, and my wife was a Mormon. I however proclaimed no faith but had been brought up by my Mom Martha and Aunt Helen with Christian teachings and values. My wife and I had children. We bought our first home and we thought it may be time to start going to Church. We went to a LDS branch in Lakewood, New Jersey. I met the Missionaries and they began visiting regularly and teaching the fullness of the Gospel as taught by the Savior and Apostles in the ancient Church. The Missionaries taught the Restoration of the Gospel. I prayed about this and received a warmth in my heart and in my mind that I had always known this to be true. I was baptized on November 26, 1979. I have been active in the Church ever since and so thankful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have responsibilities in the Church. I am the Stake Sunday School President, and enjoy sharing the Gospel and training others. I go to Seminary( scripture study before school for high schoolers). I help to ensure about 100 kids get in and out safely and help keep them in class-hall monitor. I also serve as a Temple Worker in the Orlando Temple. I have strived to live honestly, and serve others in work, community and life. I am thankful to my Heavenly Father for the Plan of Salvation, and the gift of his son Jesus Christ who is our Savior and Redeemer. I love the Savior and thankful for the faith and knowledge of Him! My life has been blessed by the Gospel!
