Hi I'm Judy Lomu

Born and raised in the Kingdom Of Tonga. Love the Outdoors, love my life and I am a Mormon

About Me

I was born to a family of 6 kids, I'm the fifth .I'm proud of my heritage. Before i came here on my mission, I was the town Librarian and i loved that job & as well as the days I get to spend with the little kids. .I love reading and helping little kids read because I think reading is essential to them as they would grow up and things won't always be the same. Plus, helping them learn another language other than their mother tongue is what some of their parents look forward too, because job applications aren't in their Native language it's in English. As of July 13 ,2013 I received my calling to serve here in Boise Idaho! And it is the best decision I have ever made in my life!

Why I am a Mormon

The reason I came back to the Church is because I didn't want to leave it on the first place! It was kind of a family issue and then came the final decision where we were told not to go to "that Church" anymore. But it was hard because the teachers from Primary would come calling and I would look forward to them coming over to the house but then was told not to "fall in between" our current religion and the Mormon church. So I grew up and when to the Government High School, instead of the LDS school. It was really hard because i always wondered what it would be like to be in that High School. Anyway, after seven years in High School and after the teen years, I felt like my life was going nowhere. By then i had 3 jobs, took classes at University and juggling family drama at home. Life was tough. Finally in 2012 I mustered up the courage to talk to my mum and I told her I'm going back. I told her how I felt empty inside, life was just something to do, I wanted to live a life and it wasn't what I was doing. Because I went through rituals and I didn't like that. I wanted to feel something when I would go to Church. So I went back to Church. And I felt like I was finally home.

How I live my faith

We visit with church members and others too who accept our invitation to share with them the message of the Restoration. We often help when the Primary Children have their activities where we lend a helping hand to the teachers and the parents. We are now working with the youth where we help them learn how to become missionaries!

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Judy Lomu
Well, God blessed us by giving us this beautiful Earth. You go to sleep at night with a sunset and you wake up every morning to a sun rise. And its in between these two that you see other blessings that somehow we may take for granted. Like we drive past a tree that is frozen but with the sunlight on it, it sparkles like a beautiful gem. What is the purpose of the welfare services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Judy Lomu
Welfare is to provide help for those who are in need when times are rough. When you work and you get blessed, you help others when you share with them what you have. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about family?

Judy Lomu
Family is the best the best thing that could ever happen to anyone. It is the most important Social Unit here on Earth. When we follow in the teachings of Jesus Christ like keeping his commandments, we can improve our relationship with each other. That is why it's important that we should seal our families here on Earth like what the Apostle Paul said in Matthew 16:19, that whatever is sealed here on Earth is sealed in Heaven.
