Hi I'm Whitney

I'm a violinist, a BYU graduate, and lover of all things chocolate! I love my family, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of five children and all of us were homeschooled. I love doing just about anything with my family! I graduated in Human Development from BYU and enjoy working with children. I am a violinist. Many of my ancestors come from Ireland...maybe that's why I love Celtic fiddling so much! In my spare time, you'll usually find me reading (most likely a work by Jane Austen), baking, or ballroom dancing. I also have a great love for Italy and the people there, and was blessed to be able to serve a 18-month mission in that beautiful country.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church, but I have gained my own testimony of the gospel and know that it is true. I am a Mormon because I love the peace and comfort that the gospel brings to my life. The knowledge that Jesus Christ is my Savior means everything to me. Without that knowledge, my life would have no purpose. To know that He atoned for my sins and died for me brings me so much hope and joy every single day. Because of this gospel, my life has direction, purpose, and meaning. I know that I am a child of God and that He loves me. I know that I can become like Christ and overcome my mistakes. Being a Mormon has made me a better person and has brought true happiness to my life!

How I live my faith

Being a Mormon affects everything I do- my faith IS my life! I live my faith as I study my scriptures, reach out to those around me, and try to be an example for others. I have had the opportunity to work with youth as a Sunday School teacher. I have found great joy in visiting with the women in my area, getting to know them and their needs. It has been a blessing for me to build friendships and serve them. My love for the truth I have found in this church gave me the desire to share my testimony with others by serving a mission. I was able to serve in Rome, Italy. My mission was the best experience of my life! It is by far the hardest- to leave home for 18 months, live in a foreign country learning a new language, working every day 24/7...for what? For the sole purpose of helping others come unto Christ. And because of that, during that time I also felt the most joy I have ever experienced. I am no one special, but I have a strong faith and faith works miracles. My testimony has changed my life, and I have seen it change the lives of countless people in Italy. Knowing that I am a daughter of a loving Heavenly Father, that He hears and answers my prayers, and that I have a purpose here on earth are truths that have brought great joy and peace to my life. These truths change who I am and affect everything I do. Like I said before, my faith IS my life!
