Hi I'm Cheryl

I grew up in Minnesota. I am a mother and Grandmother

About Me

I'm a mother of 6 children whom are all grown and out of the home. I am now retired after working in a school for the past 20 years. I love to do genealogy, read and try new recipes. My husband and I do ballroom dancing and just started square dancing.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was growing up I remember asking my minister different questions that I had and he was not able to answer them . A few years later I had stopped attending church and felt like I should start attending church again, so attended a local Lutheran church, but it was really different from the type I grew up in. I was also looking for a church that had a group for single adults as I was unhappy with the way my life was going and wanted something better and thought this could be a way to change. The missionaries knocked on my door and left a Book of Mormon. I started reading it. It was a little like the Bible, but different, so when they called again I asked if they could answer my questions. Then the missionaries started to teach me the gospel. They answered those questions that my former minister couldn't answer . Why are there not prophets on the earth today? I also did not understand the concept of the Trinity. There are prophets and apostles on the earth! Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost were separate beings! As the missionaries taught me it was all so familiar sounding, like coming home. They also had a group of young adults that helped me to make better choices. That was over 37 years ago and I still believe the things that those missionaries taught me are true and am thankful for the Lord watching over me and guiding me to that point in my life when I would listen and accept that wonderful message.

How I live my faith

I try and be a good example and try to help others. I am volunteering with the Historical Society, and at the school. Soon we will be going on a mission for the church.
