Hi I'm Jenny Bentley

I grew up in Washington and Utah. I teach 1st grade. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a in my second year of teaching. I love to listen to country music (especially George Strait!), I love to play the piano, run, draw, and crochet! I have taught 3rd and 5th grade. I am naturally quiet, so people don't expect me to be a teacher, but I try hard to be my best, even though it is very difficult for me. I have played the piano for nearly 17 years, I love it! Music has always helped me express my feelings, and bring me peace. I love to play all sorts of music. I have an thing for crocheting baby blankets, and giving them away to my nieces and nephews.Running is my passion! I haven't been able to do it as much as I would like, because of teaching, but it is one of my hobbies I do whenever I have the chance. I have run 7 half marathons (PR 1:36) and 1 full. I qualified for the Boston Marathon with a time of 3:32. I learned to love country music when I moved to Utah, and if you haven't listened to George Strait, you need to!

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because of the peace it provides, the opportunity it gives me to change, and because I am coming closer to God by living the Gospel. Peace comes to me as I pray and read the scriptures each day. These tools have an amazing power to calm your fears, and you feel the love and guidance of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ as you do them every day. The Gospel brings a new perspective into your life! I am not the same person I have been. The Gospel inspires me to become better, not in a guilty way, but in a way where I WANT to be better, so I can help others. As I change, I feel the desire to come closer to God by doing the things he asks of me. He asks me to live His commandments and His Gospel, and as I do, I know he is pleased with any effort I make. I am far from perfect- I make mistakes, but God is a rewarder of those who try, and who diligently seek Him. I am grateful for the Gospel, that is was restored by God through Joseph Smith, the Book of Mormon, and for our Prophet today, Thomas S. Monson.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trusting in my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I know what I can be, and I try to set a good example for those around me.I help out with my church callings. While I have never taught in church, I have helped plan activities, and participated in the lesson. I find that the more I participate in church the more I get out of it. The church is full of people who need each other. Heavenly Father has provided a way for everyone to be taken care of, even those who may be alone. Through the church and the people in it, I have seen that I am never alone, that there is always someone there.
