Hi I'm Mike Jensen

I was born in Logan, Utah, however my roots go back to Costessey, Norwich, England where my mom was born. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to an amazing woman and we have four wonderful children. Our family is a priority and we try hard to provide opportunities to get together (only the youngest is living at home) and enjoy one another's company and have fun. We do a lot of activities together thanks to my sweet wife who is very good with making sure things happen. I graduated from college with a degree in Personnel and Industrial Relations. I own a retirement plan administration business which keeps me very busy. I don't have a lot of spare time, but the things I enjoy doing when I get the chance are: reading, gardening and biking. For over 15 years I have kept the offensive stats for the high school football team and enjoy being on the sidelines and up close to the action. For many years I played racquetball at a highly competitive level but have been forced stop playing due to back problems.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe the Bible teaching that God sent His Son Jesus to live and die for us and to live again. He lives! He was resurrected! I know this through the sweet whisperings of the Spirit. In addition, I believe in the testimony of those 11 apostles (and others) who witnessed His life and resurrection. His resurrection was real and lasting and He did not discard His body after His resurrection. With that in mind, it's not a stretch whatsoever to contemplate God having a body, in whose image we are made as recorded in Genesis. This sets us apart and I'm grateful that we have that knowledge. Our knowledge of the Savior is sure because of the added witness of the Book of Mormon. This Book is incredible and is a great compliment to the Bible. It's testimony of Jesus is unparalleled. It means so much to me and brings me closer to our Heavenly Father and his blessed Son. Additionally, I recognize in the Church the amazingly wonderful fruits it produces. The scriptures indicate that a good tree will bring forth good fruit, and that's exactly what happens in our Church. I am so grateful for the restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ. It's clear from the scriptures that an organized religion is part of the Lord's plan and is used by the Lord to bless the lives of all mankind. I'm so truly thankful for the opportunity I have to be part of this amazing organization. There is nothing like it in all the world and I love it!

How I live my faith

I love the Lord Jesus and our Heavenly Father, and I love the restored gospel and try hard to give my best effort when called upon to serve in various callings. My current assignment is to schedule appointments for our leader and also prepare agendas for the many meetings we attend. There are many things to remember and keep track of so I have to be organized and keep an accurate calendar of events and a good reminder list. I really enjoy serving in this capacity and hope to be able to do it for a long time. I have only been at it for a few months so far. I also try to live my faith by serving others and helping in the community. For a while I was able to visit the local middle school one day a week for a couple of hours each visit to help some of the failing students with their school work. It was satisfying to know I was helping struggling kids who often came from broken homes and challenging situations in life.
