Hi I'm Caroline

I was raised as an atheist, but now I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the east coast states and went to college in the mid-west. My marriage to my college sweetheart ended up in a divorce, leaving me with 3 sons. I obtained a Master's degree in Computer Sciences while living in Michigan. I was hired by the University of Utah and subsequently held several other positions in Utah. I have lived in Utah, now, for the past 20 years. I love the mountains and got to know my current husband while hiking the local trails. I seem to have an insatiable thirst for truth. That is what led me to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and what keeps me learning more about it while I try to become more like Him.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because during my college years I realized that most of my beliefs and opinions came from my parents. I wanted to create my own belief system not borrow one. Understanding the purpose of my life was important and determining that led me to desire to find out if there is a God. My search led me to much research in the University library and visiting local Churches. I had never heard of 'Mormons', but was intrigued by their beliefs. Because of my upbringing, I had a research oriented scientific approach to determining what was true. I didn't know how to prove to myself that the Gospel as the Mormon Church taught it was the truth. I realized after a while that reading the Book of Mormon, attending Church and praying produced the same feelings inside of me. When I asked God in prayer if this meant the this Church had truth, the answer was overwhelming. This was a revelation to me, because I had never considered feelings as valid indicators of reality. I was baptized and have never looked back. I love the Gospel, I wish to serve the Lord and I testify that the Gospel as taught by the Church of Jesus Christ is truth.

How I live my faith

I have always had a desire to be helpful. I babysat as a youngster, was a grade school tutor, have helped children in Brazil through Christian Children's Fund, and have volunteered by time and efforts in the many callings that I have held over the years. I have been Primary president twice for a total of 9 years and have always been a Visiting Teacher, a wonderful way to get to know other women. Since I was single for about 25 years, I have held callings on the Ward, Stake, Regional and Area levels working with the single members of the Church.
