Hi I'm Brian Patrick Hoffmann

I have had the opportunity to live on the east coast of the United States as well as Japan, Ghana and Europe.

About Me

I enjoy working on art projects in a variety of mediums, reading, learning about health topics, bike riding, weight lifting and spending time at the beach on the east coast of the United States. I served an LDS mission in Ghana, West Africa and am currently finishing my undergrad in Visual Arts and International Development. I work as a Teacher's Assistant at the moment. I have gratefully been raised in a good Christian home by parents who help and encouraged me to better my life and to strive to center it around Christ and His gospel; to go to Heavenly Father in prayer and take advantage of the Atonement to draw me closer to Him.

Why I am a Mormon

I love God, our Heavenly Father, His Son and our Savior Jesus Christ and their messenger; our comforter, the Holy Ghost. In my home, my mother has always been LDS and has always been a positive influence. She is someone I feel comfortable talking about anything and everything with. She always took my brothers and I to church. We gratefully grew up with the gospel in our lives. Luckily in my family, my father was always supportive of our religious upbringing and around my eighth birthday he was baptized into the LDS faith. Though I have this positive religious background, I learned for myself that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true when I prayed about it. Heavenly Father, through the Spirit, testified to me that all the gospel exemplified and taught by our Savior Jesus Christ, was true and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was His restored truth established again on the earth; and it was the right path for me. Since then I have stood firm in my beliefs that are constantly being educated and building up my faith in God. I make so many mistakes but I don't allow them to pull me down into sorrow and self-pity. I try my best to stop repeating the same sins because I know there is hope. This hope comes from His Grace; from my knowledge that through the Atonement of Christ I can and will be forgiven if I sincerely repent. I know that God is patient with me and is always willing to forgive me and help me get closer to Him. I love the scriptures and try to apply the teachings and positive examples into my life; which is why He gave us His word. I have a testimony and a knowledge of many things in His gospel because of my experience and the witness of the Holy Ghost. I know that God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost exist. There is not one spec of doubt in my mind that the righteous path I am striving to follow is His path for me to be able to live with Him again in heaven.

How I live my faith

God has always been a part of my life and my goal is to grow closer to Him. I appreciate how He allows me to experience many oppositions in my life which help me become stronger in the faith. I sin too often and Satan enjoys pulling me down, but I trust in God and know He loves me and He will not give up on me even when I make the same dumb mistakes over and over again. I am striving to do my best to serve in my church and help others in any way I can. I testify that forgetting myself and serving others brings true happiness and unconditional love. For me, the best way I can serve is by being a friend. I am an extravert and am very friendly and enjoy getting to know people. I like listening to their stories and experiences which I can learn from and find ways to improve in my life. I love learning about the many religions and cultures in this world and enjoy finding the many similarities that connect us no matter our background. This builds up my faith and helps me notice God's hand and influence in all of our lives.
