Hi I'm Melinda

I am a wife and a mother of three children. I am constantly trying to improve. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom of three young children I have taught my self to play piano, sew and I am now learning guitar and singing. I am learning how to balance every day life and include my hobbies into my day as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I was fortunate enough to grow up in a home where the gospel was already available to me. My parents did nightly scripture study and prayers and family home evening lessons and did their best in teaching me what is important in life and that there is more to life then what the world offers. I have always felt right about the church and its teachings and I have gained a strong testimony in the truthfulness of it. I feel happiness, peace, love and contentment with a desire to serve others just as Christ has done. I love attending church because not only do I feel the spirit but I learn so much from other ward members.

How I live my faith

For the past few months I have really been trying to be consistent in reading the Book of Mormon and praying every morning before the kids get up. I have noticed since I have been doing this that my attitude in motherhood and life has changed and I am spiritually satisfied and I don't feel so overwhelmed with my responsibilities. Along with my personal scripture study my husband and I have scripture study and prayer with the kids each night (with the Book of Mormon reader- a book designed for kids to help them understand the stories in the Book of Mormon). we also try to do family home evening on Monday nights where we do a spiritual lesson, song and an activity. It is amazing how much kids can learn!! I also love visiting teaching. It has helped me in so many ways. I really feel the Saviors love for the sisters I visit and I always feel strengthened after the visit. I also teach the 14-15 year old girls in the ward on Sundays. Along with the amazing lessons, the girls testimonies have really helped to strengthen mine. My goal this year is to attend the temple at least once a month. We just went yesterday and WOW can I tell you the amazing feelings that I still feel today. I feel more love for my family and a stronger desire to serve the Lord.

What is the Relief Society?

Relief Society is my favorite!!! I teach the young women now so I am not able to attend it right now so I miss it so much. The lessons that are given each Sunday are so applicable to me and I feel like they were meant just for me, usually the lesson is about something i really needed to hear that week. I love hearing the inspiring words from the women who attend, they have such wisdom. It is amazing to hear their testimonies and how they became who they are. Relief Society is one big support group and I love it. You always have someone that is willing to help you when you are in need. Show more Show less
