Hi I'm Brad

I'm a Mormon. I am married with 6 kids and 8 grandkids and I am a Golf Course Superintendent.

About Me

I have been happily married for 35 years and I really enjoy being home with my wife and kids. We have lived in Utah, Nevada and California. I like to be around people and I am happy go lucky. I am kind of a tease in fact in college I had the nickname "Brat" I like to read, science fiction fantasy books such as The Hobit, Eargon, the Shannara series, etc. I enjoy play golf and when I was younger played baseball and basketball. I was on the high school water polo team and I was on the swim team. In college I was able to play lacrosse. I love to work with my hands creating and building things. I built one of the house that we lived in and have remodeled several of the others that we lived in. I enjoy making the house our own by making it fit our needs. I enjoy working with wood and metal. I have even done some crosstiching. I find it is very relaxing.. I was able to build to build 2 golf courses and have done major projects on the others I have worked at so far in my career. I take great pride in making the course beautiful and the playing conditions as good as we can get them.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have felt the whisperings of the Holy Ghost tell me that this is the way I should live, that this is the gospel of Jesus Christ and it is true. I testify that God and Jesus live. They love us. Jesus Christ is the son of God. He took upon Himself all of the sins of mankind. He gave up His life on the cross and three days later was resurrected. Everyone will be resurrected. We can return to live with Him and God if we will look to Him in faith, accept His atoning sacrifice, repent of our sins and keep His commandments. We will stand before Christ to be held accountable for those things that we have done. God the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost are three separate and distinct personages but one in purpose. Families can and will be together forever. Only a marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God. We have been given the gift of creating life. If we abuse that right we will be held accountable. The commandments have been given to us for our benefit and He can only bless us when we obey them. Joseph Smith saw God the Father and Jesus Christ and that instigated the restoration of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It is the only true church upon the earth today. God’s priesthood authority has been restored to man once again, and the Book of Mormon is the word of God. There is a living prophet and apostles on the earth today and it is through His living prophet Thomas S. Monson that Christ directs the affairs of His church today Just as we can talk to our earthly parents, we can talk to our Heavenly Father. As we seek our Heavenly Father and let Him into our lives,, he will answer our prayers and bless us with His spirit. If you do not have a testimony of God, Jesus Christ, and his gospel, you may also come to know of their truthfulness. Read the scriptures, study, and ponder these things in your heart and mind, and then ask our Heavenly Father: The answer will come; He has answered me and He will answer you too.

How I live my faith

I am the 1st counselor in the Bishopric. The Bishopric oversees the members of the ward and all of the ward activities including the Sunday services. The ward is all of the people that reside within a geographic area. Besides going to the regular church services every Sunday, I attend 2 to 3 other meetings on Sunday to discuss ways in which we can help the members of our ward plus at least 2 other meetings during the week to visits the members, be with the youth and their activities or receive training. I really enjoy meeting with the members, helping the members and getting to know them. In the church we are all lay ministers meaning that we do not receive pay. It is a real privilege to be able to serve and help out where I can. Besides the service that I do, there are other ways in which I try to live by what I know to be true. I try to treat everyone fairly and be honest in my dealing with everyone. I am faithful to my wife. I do not swear or use vulgar language. I do not drink alcohol, tea or coffee and I do not use tobacco. I enjoy reading the scriptures, studying the gospel and feeling close to my Father in Heaven;.
