Hi I'm Amanda Lourdes Bybee

I grew up in Utah in the US. I played softball and tennis and I am a super geek. I am a Mormon

About Me

I am a girl from Utah in the USA. I spent 9 years playing softball and various other sports but softball was my main sport. I consider myself a huge geek because I love reading and watching fantasy stories. I am a huge Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Avengers, Lord of the Rings, Anime, Sherlock, Doctor Who and crime shows fan. I love to travel and my dream is to set foot on every Continent and yes that includes Antarctica (I think I will try to go penguin sledding). I love this gospel and consider it a main part of my life that shapes everything I do. I am now serving a mission in the Tennessee Nashville mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in this church but that is not the reason why I still follow it. Everybody must go though their own conversion into the gospel and over the years I have found my own faith in this gospel. I am a Mormon because of the happiness that it brings into my life and the people around me. I see it in all those dedicated to the gospel. I often wondered where I would be without the gospel in my life and I have come to the conclusion that it would not be a pretty place. I, like many other girls, suffer from poor body image. I can admit this and say that I have a problem because of the love and support I get from my heavenly father. I often look at myself and think of how ugly I am or how I don't look as pretty as my sisters but then I remember that I am a daughter of God and he loves me no matter what I look like. This often helps me through the low times. I am a Mormon because I know that it is true I have searched for myself for answers and felt Gods love for me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by my everyday behavior. I have a lot of nonmember friends and even my best friend since 5th grade in a non member. I don't judge her or push her to be part of my faith but she knows were I stand on things and respects that. I live my faith by attending my church meetings every Sunday and other church activities during the week. I have helped organize for girl camps in my church and anything else that is called of me.
