Hi I'm Lacey Elkington

I am from the United States. I have been involved in cross country, 4-H, and student council. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Some of the things that I love are: running, fishing, horseback riding, spending time with friends and family, being involved, serving others, the gospel, Italian food, playing the piano, laughing, and making other people's day better. I have gone to a semester of college, but deferred to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am so excited to be a missionary and share the gospel with the people in my mission!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, and I can say that it has been one of the biggest blessings in my life. I don't know what I would do without it. I have learned for myself that this church is true. I see evidence of it everyday of my life. I remember reading the Book of Mormon and wondering if I really knew it was true. I remember that I was sitting in church one day thinking about this to myself, and realizing that I knew the Book of Mormon was true because I knew that the principles that it teaches are true. I had witnessed those truths in my life. I know it is true because I have personally seen God's hand in my life, and I have seen Him help me through things that I know I couldn't have done myself. I know the gospel is true because I am happy, and I live a life without regrets. I know it is true because of how it makes me feel. I promise that if you want to know it is true for yourself, all you need to do is read the Book of Mormon and pray with sincerity asking if it is true and you can receive a witness of its truthfulness for yourself.

How I live my faith

I think that one of the best ways that I live my faith is through the things I do. I try to be an example of Christ through my actions. People notice that there is something "different" about me because of how I act and treat others. Within the different wards I have been in I have served in various leadership positions. I have been president in my young women classes, and I have served as councilor and secretary at different times as well. I also had the opportunity to serve as a music specialist, a indexing missionary, and a visiting teacher. I have loved having the opportunity to serve in these different areas and have enjoyed getting to know so many incredible people. I have become a better person because of the opportunities I have had to serve others.
