Hi I'm Hillary

I am a cat rancher. I am a doodler. I play folk music on the guitar. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like to consider myself "well rounded." That might just be another way of saying that I do a lot of things without being particularly good at any! I love to spend time with my family. I love to camp, run, and be outdoors. My favorite sport is badminton. I love to play the guitar, especially folk music. I am studying to be an elementary school teacher. Right now that is on hold while I serve as a missionary in Florida. My life in a nutshell-I am happy, healthy and so blessed!

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be born into a very faithful family with a rich heritage in the church. I grew up participating actively and being blessed abundantly by the gospel. I was always aware of the happiness and peace that came through righteous living. My testimony really came as I studied and prayed about The Book of Mormon. I read it cover to cover on my own when I was young. I have read it many times since. I have had the Spirit touch my heart many times to tell me that it is the word of God. I love it. I have found confidence and faith as I have turned to the truths of the restored gospel. I know that our Father in Heaven knows me individually. I know that He cares about me. I know that when I pray to Him, He listens and answers. I know that because He loves me, He sent His son, Jesus Christ, to suffer and die for me. Through Christ we can be forgiven of our sins and given strength and help in times of need. It is a blessing to know that God still loves us all today. I know that He speaks to us now through a living prophet. I am happy and blessed to be "Mormon!"

How I live my faith

It all just comes down to the fact that as I live the values and standards that I know God would want me to, I am happy. I have found through personal experience that keeping the commandments makes for a very happy life! The church has given me many opportunities to meet and serve with many inspiring people. I have been blessed with wonderful examples and mentors and had the chance to teach and lead others. I know that I have grown closer to the Savior through these experiences.
