Hi I'm Trent

I live to serve. I've been a sailor, police officer, detective, and SWAT operator. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a self-proclaimed jerd (half jock, half nerd). I grew up playing basketball and football, and can't get enough of college football Saturdays. I still enjoy fitness, and can often be found at the local rec center. I also believe that knowledge is power. I love learning new things and seeing life through a different lens. As such, good books, diversity among friends, and higher education are a staple in my life. I've spent nearly a decade working in public service. My time in the US Navy and as a police officer helped me come to the realization that I am most happy when I'm serving others. Whether acting as a translator, patrol officer, detective, or SWAT operator I was always motivated by a deep rooted desire to protect and serve. After years of attending school on the side I've finally realized my dream of attending law school and look forward to starting the next chapter of helping others.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in Jesus Christ. I have a conviction that He lives and He loves us. The teachings of the LDS (Mormon) Church have helped me to understand His mission, His plan for us, and His interaction with us and such a deep and incredible level. I love my belief in prophets, in the Holy Bible, and in the Book of Mormon. I feel strongly that God loves His children so deeply. Having prophets on the earth today and scripture proof that God communicated with His children through prophets all over the world - through the Bible and Book of Mormon - are such great evidence of that love. My faith has come through extensive study, thought, and prayer. The teachings of the LDS Church make me want to be a better person, they make me want to learn more, and they have been confirmed to me by the Spirit of God.

How I live my faith

I am far from perfect, but try to express my faith through all facets of life. My employment has always been centered around service. At school and in my social life I try to be keenly aware of the needs of other, and provide a kind word or helpful hand when needed. I've also had many opportunities to help in the community where I live. I have been involved in food drives, Christmas charities for children, speaking engagements at local schools, and also spent years in the Big Brothers Big Sisters family. Additionally, participating in my church has brought a great deal of satisfaction. I have served a two-year proselyting mission, been president of the men's group, and am currently the leader of missionary work in the area where I live.
